I come across this in Soeulmates International forum so I might as well share it to those who love soeul couple just like me. This is an excerpt of the said interview from EPOP Magazine which is available for purchase in Malaysia and Singapore. The title of the magazine is bit catchy "Kim So Eun – We’re in love! – Kim Bum".

On screen couple Kim Bum and Kim So Eun can be said to be pretty popular ~ <> not only made their names much more know, a lot of advertising companies has also invited this couple to represent them~ Following up on the cell phone advertisement, Kim Bum and Kim So Eun have come together as sweet representatives of a porridge shop. Ah … friends who love them, are you all waiting very eagerly? He he… don’t be too nervous, we will also reveal bits of their behind the scenes, to let you see their sweet interactions ~Now, let’s cut short our conversation here, and listen to their “sweet” conversation

epop: After filming <>, you have built strong relationship with other members of the cast, is that true?


KSE: Yes~ It’s like with the f4 in the drama, and with Gu Hye Sun; because of filming, we are together on the set everyday hence everyone has good relationship with each other.

I remember that every time when I am hungry, Gu Hye Sun would be the first to offer me food, he he…

KB: Everyone met through filming of <>; filming together, suffering together hence everyone has good relationship with each other!

Translator’s comment: their ending line is the same except for the exclamation and full stop, LOLS. – and when I read the line ‘It’s like with the f4 in the drama’, I was wondering so is your relationship with KB just like that of the drama?

epop: Can you tell us about your experience of you first venture into the entertainment industry?

KSE: When I was fifteen; under the support of friends, I took on a chocolate advertisement then I discovered that being a model is very interesting. After that, I was lucky and starred in <>. Maybe it’s because I’ve been filming advertisements previously, which leaded me to think that acting does not suit my character; fortunately my parents have been very supportive and I slowly built up the feel for acting.


KB: Many have said that I emerged as a child star but I feel that though I cannot be counted as an adult actor nor can I be said to be a child star, and can only be said to be somewhere in between the two. I won’t exactly tell myself to show mature acting skills, comparing this; I feel that the process of growing up is more important, I hope that everyone can see my improvements.

Epop: Did your parents object when you first stepped into the entertainment industry?

KB: Basically, all parents would wish for their child to get to university and find a good job. My parents are also like that, when I was in elementary school, they forbade me to join the soccer team, but after I left the soccer team; I fell in love with acting. However after being an actor, my grades are still good, this fulfilled my parent’s expectations hence they permit me to be an actor.


KSE: They didn’t ~ Maybe it’s because I’ve always obeyed my parent’s plus my parents also highly respect my opinions.

Epop: Previously, Kim Joon revealed on a television program that you have a good drinking capacity! Is it true?

KB: Ha Ha… Still alright la! [Translator’s note: I bought the ‘la’ over from the Chinese article, it’s just to emphasis it’s casualness] I’ve only drank up to 2-3 cups of soju!


Epop: What expectations do you have from your other half?

KSE: Hmm.. if you’re talking about boys like those in <> who are rich; and have a lot of capabilities, it’s not exactly the type I would like because I prefer guys who is worthy of my admiration and those that are extremely gentle, sweet and romantic.

KB: My ideal type is someone who can understand my career, can get along well with me, and a girl whom I can confide everything and anything with. And also, a lively and bubbly girl.

Epop: If we ask Kim So Eun to choose 1 of the f4 as a boyfriend, who would you choose?

KSE: *laughs*… Even though I am paired as a couple with So Yi Jung in the drama, I actually prefer guys like Goo Jun Pyo. Because he is perfect and kind, he also seems like the kind of guy who would delve really really deeply on a matter, (he’s) really too adorable. Even though looking very perfect, yet is a man with flaws, that makes him even more charismatic! And for So Yi Jung, the kind of flirty character, as a boyfriend, I definitely cannot forgive! *Chuckles* Of course, the Kim Bum out of scene is definitely not a guy like that .

Epop: So, Kim Bum, are you as devoted as the way Kim So Eun portrayed you to be?

KB: *chuckles* .. To say of myself like that, seems pretty embarrassing ~ Before I was a celebrity, I had a few girlfriends, I am one of those who once I fall in love with a girl, would no longer pay attention to any more girls! Previously, because I was so addicted to sports, I neglected those girlfriends; now, because of filming I have even less free time, and also because being a celebrity, if I caused my girlfriend to have anti-fans, it would be bad. Hence, I am still single at the time being!

Epop: What do both of you think is the common point(s) between the two of you?


KSE: (About) wanting to experiment everything ba~ And also, we can't bear to lose, I have a really keen sense of curiousity, and desire to try out a lot of thing. If I'm forbidden to do so, I won't stubbornly push on with it.


KB: Yea.. Plus I have a lot of thoughts (ideas/dreams) but have yet gone to the extend of letting anyone worried about me. When it's time to play; I'd play hard, (and) when its time to work, I would also put all my heart into work, (and) not let myself have any regrets. Most importantly, I am one of those type who once (I) set out on something, no matter what it is, (I) would see it till the end.

Epop: You both like sports a lot, is it?

KSE: I know enjoyed ice-skating since young, if I had not step into the entertainment industry, perhaps I'd may have become a (ice skating) representative for the country! He he...

KB: I was obsessed with soccer since I was ten all the way till I was fifteen, and thought it was the only way I could attain success. But at times I'd blame myself, because friends who are of similar age kept having improvements in their soccer skills, and I found it really difficult to be
satisfied with my soccer skills, I guess I am really a perfectionist ~ he he ...


Epop: When faced with stress, how do you overcome it?

KB: I remembered that once I went for an audition, in which the director had a lot of faith in me, but I was not able to perform up to standard, (and) I regretted it a lot. Whenever I'm faced with such pressure, I would confide my troubles to my acting teacher, and work hard on changing myself, to make myself improve more!

Epop: If the person you want to marry is not approved by your parents, what would you do?



KB: If I love someone to the extend of wanting to marry her, but because of the objections of people around and do not end up with her, I think I'd regret it my whole life. Hence I'd continuously try convincing my parents; until they agree. I've been very honest up to now, I think they'd accept my decision.

Epop: Have you thought if you suffer failure in the entertainment industry, how would you react (adjust to the fact) to it?

KB: I think no one likes failure, failing the first time round is unavoidable, but to me; failing the second time round, I would be very upset. From failure to success, (one) needs to fork out a lot of efforts, I would not let myself fail the second time .


KSE: Wa.. Kim Bum is so stern~ My mum hopes for me to become like (those) hollywood stars, that means (to be) an international star la ~ But I find this goal very ambitious ~ Hence, mum said later, if I fail, I can return~ he he ...
